1. Service Description

MapleLing is an interactive French language learning platform focused on helping learners build practical communication skills for everyday life in Canada through guided practice, AI-assisted tools, interactive learning experiences, and community features.

Throughout these Terms, the term "Services" refers collectively to all features, software, content, AI tools, community features, websites, applications, and future services provided by MapleLing.

The platform offers a range of learning features including:

• Guided lessons and interactive learning pathways
• AI-assisted learning and speaking practice
• Listening comprehension activities
• TEF Canada preparation tools
• Progress tracking and analytics
• Daily and Weekly Challenges
• Maple Path progression system
• Interactive learning games and quizzes
• Leaderboards and community rankings
• Achievements and badges

MapleLing is not an educational institution, school, college, university, or accredited educational provider. MapleLing does not issue diplomas, certifications, academic credits, or government-recognized qualifications. Language learning results depend on individual effort, consistency, and practice. Results are not guaranteed.

2. Use of Artificial Intelligence

MapleLing uses artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to generate explanations, examples, feedback, and interactive learning experiences within the platform.

AI-generated content is provided for learning support purposes only and may occasionally contain inaccuracies, simplified explanations, or outdated information.

MapleLing does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated responses.

AI-generated content should not be considered professional language instruction, certified exam preparation, or official guidance.

3. User Accounts

Users must create an account to access certain features of MapleLing. When creating an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Keep your login credentials secure and confidential
• Notify MapleLing immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
• Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

4. Account Usage

Each MapleLing account is intended for a single individual user. Account sharing is not permitted.

MapleLing reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts involved in fraud, abuse, or unauthorized sharing.

5. Subscriptions

Certain MapleLing features require a paid subscription. Subscription options include:

• Monthly Access: Billed monthly with automatic renewal
• Annual Access: Billed annually with automatic renewal

All payments are securely processed through Stripe. MapleLing does not store credit card information.

Subscription prices may vary based on promotional offers. Pricing is subject to change for future billing cycles with advance notice.

Features included in subscription plans may evolve over time as MapleLing continues to improve.

6. Recurring Billing

By subscribing, you authorize recurring billing through your selected payment method.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.

7. Subscription Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings.

Cancellation stops future billing cycles but access remains until the end of the current billing period.

8. Refunds

Refund requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws and payment provider policies.

9. Community Programs & Promotions

MapleLing may occasionally introduce community events, giveaways, beta features, early access testing, promotional campaigns, or limited-time offers.

Each promotion may have its own published rules and eligibility requirements. Participation in promotions is voluntary.

MapleLing reserves the right to modify, postpone, or cancel promotions where necessary to protect fairness, security, compliance with applicable laws, or the integrity of the promotion.

10. Acceptable Use

When using MapleLing, you agree not to:

• Scrape, extract, or copy content from the platform
• Use automated tools or bots to access the service
• Attempt to reverse engineer or decompile any part of the platform
• Attempt to bypass subscription requirements or access Premium content without payment
• Attempt to manipulate leaderboards, achievements, challenges, or other platform progression systems
• Interfere with or disrupt MapleLing services or servers
• Use the platform for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Share, resell, or redistribute MapleLing content
• Attempt to contact coaches or learners outside MapleLing for the purpose of avoiding platform fees

11. Community Features

MapleLing may include public community features such as usernames, achievements, badges, leaderboards, and rankings.

Users are responsible for choosing appropriate display names. Users should avoid using personal information within public usernames.

MapleLing reserves the right to moderate or remove inappropriate content, usernames, or behavior that violates these Terms.

12. Community Waitlist and Coach Applications

MapleLing may invite individuals to join a waitlist for potential Community or Live Practice features and may accept expressions of interest from individuals who wish to be considered as independent coaches if those features are developed.

By submitting a waitlist or coach application form, you acknowledge that:

• Your information will be collected, stored, and used by MapleLing to evaluate interest in, plan, and administer potential Community and Live Practice features, as described in our Privacy Policy.
• Joining the waitlist or submitting a coach application does not create a MapleLing user account or provide access to account-only or paid Services.
• Joining the waitlist does not guarantee that any feature will be launched or that you will receive access, availability, pricing, or a particular launch date.
• Submitting a coach application does not create an employment, contractor, agency, partnership, or other working relationship with MapleLing and does not guarantee selection, work, sessions, clients, income, or compensation.
• MapleLing is evaluating whether Community and Live Practice will be developed and has made no commitment to launch either feature.

MapleLing may accept or decline coach applications and may pause or discontinue the waitlist or proposed features, subject to these Terms and applicable law.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your waitlist or application information by contacting community@mapleling.ca. Requests will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

13. Platform Evolution

MapleLing continuously evolves to improve the learning experience.

New learning features, AI tools, games, challenges, community features, learning pathways, assessments, mobile applications, or other services may be added, modified, replaced, or discontinued over time.

Certain features may be experimental, in beta, or available only to selected users.

Major changes affecting paid features will be communicated in advance when possible.

14. Intellectual Property

Content made available through MapleLing, including lessons, audio, graphics, games, software, and platform features, belongs to 1001549096 Ontario Inc.

User-generated content, including messages, posts, and contributions within community features, remains the property of the user. By submitting content, users grant MapleLing a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and use such content within the platform.

Users retain ownership of their personal data and learning progress but grant MapleLing a limited, non-exclusive license to use anonymized aggregate data to improve the platform.

15. Account Suspension

MapleLing reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts involved in:

• Fraudulent activity
• Platform abuse
• Illegal activity
• Violations of these Terms of Service

16. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MapleLing is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MapleLing is not liable for service interruptions, technical issues, learning outcomes, or any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the platform.

17. TEF Preparation Disclaimer

MapleLing provides educational content and TEF preparation tools designed to help users develop French language skills.

Important: Success on the TEF Canada exam depends on many factors including individual effort, study habits, language exposure, prior experience, and exam performance.

MapleLing does not guarantee:

• Specific scores or results on TEF Canada or any language examination
• Immigration outcomes or approval of immigration applications
• Achievement of specific language proficiency levels
• Success on any official language certification exam

TEF Canada is a registered trademark of the Chambre de commerce et d'industrie de région Paris Île-de-France. MapleLing is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to TEF Canada or its administering organizations.

18. Electronic Communications

By creating an account or using MapleLing, you agree to receive electronic communications related to your account, subscriptions, security alerts, platform updates, and Services.

Transactional communications (such as account confirmations, password resets, payment receipts, and security notifications) are part of the Services and cannot be opted out of while maintaining an active account.

Promotional emails and marketing communications may be managed according to your communication preferences or by using the unsubscribe link included in such emails.

19. Privacy

Your use of MapleLing is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

20. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Except where applicable consumer law provides otherwise, disputes arising from these Terms or your use of MapleLing shall be subject to the courts of Ontario, Canada.
